Should I beat the crap out of my moms ex-boy friend?

When I was around the age of 6 my mom started seeing this guy for about a year. He moved in soon after. So he started to hit me and my brother. (ex) he beat me with the plug end of a wire JUST for putting a cat under a small round hamper with nothing in it. (the cat could of gotten out on its own). He also grabbed my brother by his ears and threw him on the tor of a bunk bed. After that my mother broke up with him and is now marryed. So my mom added him on facebook about a year ago and im 17 now. And he says that hes going to come up for a visit. And I said that I was going to punch him in the face if I see him, and my mom told him that. So my question to you as a community is- Should I kick his @$$? (Also I don't want a mush speech about how I should forgive him, I want what I asked!)
