I want to receive free weather alerts on my computer, i had weatherbug, but i want something safer. any ideas?

I think weatherbug was bogging down the computer, it was the only thing that i put on that uses the internet. i want something better without all the adware/spyware, whichever it is, i don't want it. are there any good desktop alerts out there?
