What do you suggest for a dorm room: bunk beds or separated beds with risers?

I'm going to be a freshman at college next year and I've seen a lot of dorms with bed risers and storage underneath but my dorm has the option of bunk beds and I'm wondering if anyone has experienced both and has an opinion.
