Help with IPhone 3GS sounds?

i jsut got my iphone 3gs not to long ago and recently i have beenhaving issues withthe sound, itll only play sounds for the ipod and website stuff and if i click on the ringtone i want itll play but not when someone calls or texts or any kind of alert, also the right speaker dosnt work, i have tryed a soft reset a hrd reset and even plugging in and out headphones and so far nothing has worked, oh and th eonly other thing that i noticed it when i restart my phone sound will come on for a short time. is there anythign ic an do to fix this?
